How much do record albums (vinyl) account for in total sales?

I have an argument with a friend and would like to know the number of vinyl record that are being sold new to day and what % of total sales they account for so I can prove I am right. I don’t know what the % is but I know it is way more than 0.1% which he says it is.

actually it’s NOT. 99.9% of cds aren’t even pressed into vinyl now, only 12″ and remixes are.
