And which ones are they?
New Moon, I think some of Jay’s best lyricism is on AG. I don’t understand why that album gets so much hate.
Just me – how can an unreleased album be a classic?
If you think Wayne has classics, that’s your opinion, but don’t be a stan about it.
Yeah, I’m with you on the thumbs down thing New Moon!

    Jay-Z.
    3, IMO.
    Reasonable Doubt
    In My Lifetime Vol. 1
    Blueprint 1

Honorable Mention to American Gangster…I THINK that album was dope as hell.

@Bonnie: I agree with you 110%. I think he was showing his “grown-man” on a few tracks, and I guess some people didn’t like that. There was only one whack track to me…”pray” with Beyonce
@Bonnie: I thought the same thing when I saw that answer, but I gave a thumbs up because thumbs down is reserved for truly bad answers!

Define “classic”. Lol. I am more of a Roots fan than an Atmosphere fan these days so i’ll say they have too many classics to name.

SIDENOTE: Calling two unreleased albums classics does qualify as a truly bad answer. That dude deserves a lot of thumbs down.

  • Mar2 is and forever will be… says:

He has none to date…and that’s sad…maybe Labor Days will be considered one in a few years

  • The Second Coming Of The Ski says:

Honestly? 5 as an MC. As complete performances/ From an instrumental perspective…All of The Roots albums are classics.

    As an MC

Black Thought spits classic material on

    Illadelph Half Life
    Rising Down
    The Tipping Point
    Things Fall Apart
    Game Theory

I’m thinking “Do You Want More??!?” too.. but i haven’t listened to it in a while. So i can’t think. When talking about goats etc. I like to have the album freshly ringing in my ears.

As far as Jay-Z goes. He’s no doubt one of the greats…But you’re blind if you can’t acknowledge that he is GROSSLY overrated. To put into perspective, Is your favourite rapper not Chuck D Bonnie? Jay-Z gets more credit as a lyricist than Chuck D does.
